JEE main 2016 rank list, card, rank vs marks predictor: CBSE has decided to announce JEE main 2016 rank list on or before 30th June 2016. AIR will be prepared on the basis of 60% weightage of JEE main score and 40% part from percentage in 12th class. JEE main 2016 rank list will be used to avail admissions in top engineering institutes of India like NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. There are other engineering institutes which are considered as the top colleges and these will also follow JEE Main ranks 2016 to grant admission for best candidates. Around 24,000 seats for Undergraduate engineer course will be granted to the aspirants.

There are 31 NITs, 18 IIITs and 18 GFTIs which will accept JEE Main 2016 ranks and all this will be done by JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority). JEE main rank will be prepared separately for admission in B.E. / B.Tech and B.Arch/ B. Planning. AS we mentioned earlier that rank will be prepared according to JEE main score and 12th Class normalized score and weightage will be 60% and 40% respectively. The rank will be announced by June 30th, 2016.

JEE Main 2016 rank list

JEE main 2016 rank card will contain different ranks for candidates like All India Rank, State Rank and Category Rank along with their names and validity of rank card. NITs/IIITs/GFTIs will accept admission on the basis of All India Rank only, while other ranks will be used for admissions in Local colleges.

What if two candidates have Equal marks?

There may be case when they are two or more candidates who have equal marks (by adding 60% & 40% marks weightage of JEE main score and 12th class normalized score). In such case (in case of Tie), JEE main 2016 Merit list of these aspirants will be decided with procedure given below.

JEE main rank in this case will be prepared as follows

  • Candidate with Higher marks in Mathematics section of JEE main 2016 will get better rank.
  • Candidates having higher score in JEE main Physics section will get better ranks.
  • Candidates with higher normalized score will be provided with better ranks.
  • By calculating the ratio of Positive and negative score, Aspirant with the greater absolute value will get better rank.
  • If none of the above methods make a difference, in such case, candidates will be awarded with same rank in JEE main 2016.

JEE Main 2016 score card will not be delivered to the candidates offline, They will have to download it from the official website, when available.

How colleges will be allotted to candidates using JEE main rank list

Admissions in Engineering colleges will be awarded on the basis of candidate’s All India Rank. They will have to fill their choices through Joint Seat Allocation Authority. JEE Main 2016 score card

Score card of JEE Main 2016 can be downloaded from the official JEE main portal after the announcement of JEE main rank list. There are some important details which will be made available on the score card. Information that will be found printed on the score card is given below.

This for the only one candidate who appears for both Paper 1 and Paper 2 will be considered for ranking. But if the aggregate marks scored by two or more candidates are same.
